Korean Supermarket Chain Aims for 20% Cost Savings by Turning to Cloud-Based Platform for B2B Integration
(firmenpresse) - SEOUL, KOREA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/04/11 -- GXS today announced that HomePlus, South Korea's second largest retailer, has selected GXS to manage its electronic interactions with more than 2,300 suppliers. .
HomePlus selected , a comprehensive business-to-business (B2B) outsourcing solution, to provide more responsiveness and visibility into its global procurement model as it continued its rapid growth. As part of the program, HomePlus will transition from using a local EDI service provider on a shared B2B infrastructure with other local retailers to the GXS Trading Grid, a cloud-based B2B integration services platform that manages more than 10 billion transactions a year across 400,000 companies.
"Recently, as part of Korean government's policy, major companies are expected to take a win-win approach with their suppliers. We aim to reduce 20% of the total business-to-business (B2B) integration cost to our suppliers by leveraging GXS Managed Services, which will also provide us with local support in local language in our time zone," said Dong-Jin Kim, Executive Director of IT & Operating Model, HomePlus.
