After-Hours Veterinarian at Austin Emergency Vet Clinic Provides 24-Hour Care for Referral Patients

Dr. Scott I. Johnson, an and owner of Emergency Animal Hospital of NW Austin (EAHNWA), announced that the animal hospital is working closely with local to provide after-hours care services for pets.
The vet clinic accepts sent directly from veterinary hospitals. These patients must be admitted with referral paperwork in order to receive a reduced exam fee. This paperwork includes test results and medical records. Referral patients are pets under the care of their regular veterinarian who require overnight treatments and supervision from a veterinarian.
"Our referral program allows our to provide the critical after-hours care and treatment a pet needs," said Dr. Johnson. "By working closely with the family veterinarian, we make the transition as seamless as possible for both the owner and the pet. If a pet needs to be monitored overnight, our comfortable cages are a safe place for the pet to recover and heal."
Referral patients will receive a short diagnostic exam upon admittance to the hospital. The emergency veterinarian will check your cat or and perform a brief physical.
EAHNWA also accepts walk-in patients; no appointment is needed. Patients are prioritized for treatment based on the seriousness of their condition.
"If a pet shows symptoms of illness and the pet owner can't reach their regular vet because it's late at night, we advise pet owners not to wait until the morning," said Dr. Johnson. "Dog or of illness may indicate a serious problem, and the sooner we can evaluate a pet's condition, the faster we can provide the life-saving care that pet may require."

The North Austin location has 24-hour veterinarian support on Saturdays and Sundays while the South Austin location opens at 1:00pm on Saturdays and remains open for the entire weekend.
