(firmenpresse) - EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/23/11 -- The Edmonton Social Media Breakfast (SMBYEG) is pleased to announce Doug Griffiths, Leadership Candidate for the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, as this month's guest speaker.
Griffiths is excited to present and stimulate conversation around the value of social media in generating awareness and connecting with followers. He will share his experiences of how modern politicians can use the social web to engage with constituents.
Stay after the discussion to network and share ideas within the realm of social media. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new-media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend.

Doug Griffiths
, Doug Griffiths () was first elected as a Member of the Legislature Assembly of Alberta (MLA), in the constituency of Wainwright, in a by-election on April 8, 2002. At the age of 29, he was the youngest MLA to serve the province. Mr. Griffiths is now in his third term of representing the constituency that has become Battle River-Wainwright.

SMBYEG houses an open environment to share today's best and worst examples of social media, as practiced by individuals, industries and organizations in Edmonton and around the world. Guest speakers share their experience and expertise of social media use, followed by an opportunity to network with a community of like-minded individuals.
