SIU Investigating Collision in Ottawa
(firmenpresse) - MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 09/19/11 -- Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is probing the circumstances surrounding injuries suffered by a female last night in Ottawa.
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) notified the SIU that an OPS officer attempted to stop a vehicle at approximately 11:00 pm. The vehicle failed to stop and shortly thereafter, it entered the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Airport Parkway, where it became involved in a collision with an oncoming vehicle. The injured female, a passenger in the front seat of the pursued vehicle, is being treated at hospital.
The SIU has assigned three investigators, one collision reconstructionist and two forensic investigators to probe the circumstances surrounding this incident. One subject officer has been designated.
Hunt Club Road will remain closed this morning for the on-going SIU investigation.
