Fraser Institute to Release Annual Economic Freedom of the World Report Tuesday, September 20
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/19/11 -- The Fraser Institute will release the Economic Freedom of the World: 2011 Annual Report on Tuesday, September 20 at 6:00 a.m. (Eastern).
The annual peer-reviewed report ranks 141 countries around the world based on 42 different measures of policies that encourage economic freedom, the cornerstones of which are personal choice, voluntary exchange, freedom to compete, and security of private property.
"The link between economic freedom and prosperity is undeniable: the countries that score highly in terms of economic freedom also offer their people the best quality of life," said Fred McMahon, Fraser Institute vice-president of international policy research.
"The political uprisings sweeping across the Arab World are driven in part by people's desire for the outcomes of economic freedom: prosperity, job growth, and poverty reduction."
