Telx Achieves SSAE 16 Compliance in 12 Data Centers
Certification of 12 World-Class, Carrier-Dense Facilities Further Validates Interconnection Leader's Commitment to Operational Excellence and Customer Satisfaction
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 09/19/11 -- ®, a leading and provider in strategic North American markets, today announced the successful completion of its Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 examination. The examination was conducted by Weaver and Tidwell, LLP (Weaver), a full service accounting firm providing SSAE 16 Type 1 and Type 2 reports that evaluated Telx's design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and processes. The report, produced after a lengthy independent examination of Telx's in 12 carrier-dense, connection-rich facilities, demonstrates the company's continued leadership in operational excellence and underscores its commitment to providing industry-leading security for its customers.
"Colocation customers, specifically in the telecom services, financial services, cloud services and managed hosting industries, will be increasingly demanding accreditations and certifications such as SSAE 16 from vendor companies like Telx," said Jason Schafer, Research Manager, Datacenter Technologies with Tier1 Research. SSAE 16 supersedes the previous data center industry standard, SAS 70. Telx's SSAE 16 report scope focuses on procedures performed by Telx which are likely to be relevant to its customers' internal controls over financial reporting, including: physical and environmental security, problem management, technical support, customer ordering/service delivery, network equipment monitoring and organization and administration. The report is intended for use by Telx's customers and their auditors. Due to the nature of the interconnection and colocation services provided by Telx, customers may also find this report useful for understanding the controls performed by Telx that are relevant for other compliance needs, such as HIPAA or PCI.
