Unlike shows such as the Austin City Limits Festival, where a large amount of attendees live near the host city, more than 53% of ticket buyers live more than 1,000 miles away from the festival. By comparison, only 15% of ACL Festival attendees live that far away from Austin.
At $909, the current overall average price for is higher than tickets for similar festivals, according to data from the TicketNetwork Exchange*. This is compared to $170 for Austin City Limits and $224 for Lollapalooza. Despite the premium, the more expensive passes for the show's second day on September 24 are the most popular choice. The average price of those tickets is $994, compared to the first day average price of $822. The preference may be due to second day's lineup, which includes fan favorites Lady Gaga and Kenny Chesney.
Besides Gaga and Chesney, the first-time event has a star-heavy lineup which includes Jay-Z, Coldplay, Steven Tyler, Carrie Underwood, and Nicki Minaj. In all, twenty bands and artists will take the MGM Grand Garden Arena stage during the festival's two days.
