Juniper Networks Ethernet Switches Awarded UC APL Certification by the U.S. Department of Defense
(firmenpresse) - SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/08/11 -- Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) today announced that it has achieved U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL) certification of its EX Series Ethernet switches; specifically, the Juniper Networks® EX8200, EX4500, EX4200, EX3200 and EX2200 product lines. The certification enables Juniper's EX Series Ethernet switching products to be included on the DoD's APL of components to purchase and operate UC systems over DoD infrastructures.
The UC APL certification focuses on the critical needs of the DoD to support converged mission critical voice, video and data over IP. Solutions must demonstrate adherence to rigorous security, high availability, IPv6 support and quality of service standards.

The DoD UC APL is established in accordance with the UC Requirements document and is the only listing of equipment by DoD to be fielded in DoD networks. Its purpose is to maintain a single consolidated list of products that have completed Interoperability (IO) and Information Assurance (IA) certification. Use of the DoD UC APL allows DoD Components to purchase and operate UC systems over all DoD network infrastructures.
