Lawson Introduces Student Activity Management Application to Help K-12 School Districts Improve Financial Management
Hillsborough County Public Schools Among First to Use Solution to Help Increase Financial Transparency and Better Serve Students

PAUL, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 08/31/11 -- , an affiliate, today announced the launch of , a new application designed to help K-12 school districts more accurately track monies for student fees and activities. The solution, which can be used with the suite, provides consolidated views of student activity balances in an easy-to-use format, even for those with little or no background in accounting. Lawson Student Activity Management is now generally available.
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) in Tampa, Fla., is the first school district to begin using the solution. HCPS is the eighth-largest school district in the United States with more than 15,400 certified teaching personnel in 254 schools serving approximately 200,000 students. Lawson Student Activity Management will replace an outdated application for tracking student fees that has been in use since the mid-1990s. The new application will help the District better align activity fee data with its overall financial operations.

HCPS is currently using Lawson Student Activity Management in more than ten schools, with plans to roll the solution out to the broader district. Specifically, the solution will help HCPS achieve the following:
Consolidate accounts across their district
Create transparency across all schools
Obtain timely and secure data to help mitigate loss risk
Simplify year-end reporting
