Online Betting Firm Sky Bet Braced for Dramatic Deadline Day
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 08/30/11 -- As the clock ticks down to the closure of the summer transfer window, company Sky Bet is preparing for an onslaught of bets on 'Deadline Day'.
The leading online betting company, which specializes in football transfer betting, has offered over 110 markets offered this summer and is expecting bumper turnover as clubs battle against the clock to wrap up last-minute deals.
The futures of several marquee names are still unresolved and Sky Bet's odds compilers are braced for the 'big story' to break. Football Transfer betting markets on Luka Modric, Gary Cahill and Scott Parker are all likely to attract huge numbers of bets as customers take a punt in their thousands on whether they will stay or go. Last-minute deals for want-away Manchester City star Carlos Tevez and Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder cannot be ruled out either.
The media spotlight will be on Arsene Wenger as he makes a last-gasp attempt to rebuild his squad in the wake of the Gunners' worst defeat in 114 years. Following Arsenal's 8-2 humiliation at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday, money is flooding in on defenders heading to North London and Sky Bet make Blackburn's Chris Samba (4/9), Everton's Leighton Baines (6/5) and Bolton's Gary Cahill (6/4) favourites to reinforce Arsenal's ailing defence.
Sky Bet's PR Manager Helen Jacob said: "January's deadline day was the biggest and best on record for the bookies with three monster deals being done in Fernando Torres and David Luiz signing for Chelsea and Andy Carroll making a surprise move to Liverpool, while Charlie Adam's heavily gambled departure from Blackpool failed to transpire. We have our fingers crossed for another dramatic day's trading on Deadline Day."
The transfer window closes at 11pm on Wednesday. To view the full range of Sky Bet's transfer betting markets, click .
