Company Names Industry Veteran Robert Villarreal, Formerly of EMC, as VP of Sales to Capitalize on Market Opportunities for VM-Aware Storage
(firmenpresse) - LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 08/29/11 -- , the leading producer of VM-aware storage appliances, today announced the appointment of Robert Villarreal as Vice President of Sales. The appointment is effective immediately and will help accelerate Tintri's steady growth since launch. Villarreal has over 20 years of experience as an enterprise sales executive for storage vendors, serving most recently as Vice President of EMC's Backup Recovery Systems (BRS) Division, via their Data Domain acquisition.
Villarreal helped EMC's BRS division attain $366 million in annual sales revenue, with 87% year-over-year growth. Prior to EMC's acquisition, Villarreal created Data Domain's global sales program, driving more than $100 million in annual sales and over 100% year-over-year growth. Previously, Villarreal ran NetApp's Top Enterprise Program Office, working with clients such as Oracle, Yahoo, Intel, Wells Fargo and Disney. Prior to NetApp, Villarreal worked for 15 years as an enterprise sales executive for Siemens AG, IBM and ROLM.
