First Two Singles From Future History -- "Don't Wanna Go Home" and "It Girl" -- Available Now

(firmenpresse) - BURBANK, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/25/11 -- Multi-platinum singer and songwriter has announced the full track-listing for his upcoming sophomore album , which will be released by Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records on September 27th, 2011. The final track-listing is below.

A Deluxe Edition featuring an autographed CD of Future History, an instant digital download of Derulo's latest single "It Girl," two bonus digital tracks, and remixes of the singles will also be available. The bonus and remixed tracks will be delivered digitally at midnight on September 27th. This limited edition is available for pre-order at jasonderulo.com.

Future History finds Derulo moving seamlessly from ultra-sexy urban dance tracks to poppy love songs, offering up, as he did on his self-titled debut, a unique genre-blurring blend of varied sounds deeply rooted in pop. Production is handled by The Fliptones, including the first single and instant summer anthem "Don't Wanna Go Home," as well as by hitmakers J.R. Rotem, Frank E, The Dream, and Eman.

"On this album I just wanted to be me," explains Derulo, who wrote all of the songs on Future History either by himself or in collaboration with top names like Kara Dioguardi, The Dream, and Claude Kelly. The new batch of songs reflects a newfound maturity in Derulo's personality as well as the music that he's eager to share with his fans. "I was 19 before and now I'm 21 and I've really kind of found myself," he says. "So you can hear a whole new person, a new being almost."

Future History includes Derulo's two current singles, "Don't Wanna Go Home," which spent five consecutive weeks in the Top 10 at Pop radio, and "It Girl," which is closing in on the Top 30 at Pop radio in under three weeks and is being spun on more than 100 stations. The video for "It Girl," which features actress Tika Sumpter (Gossip Girl, The Game), has racked up 700K views in 7 days, while "Don't Wanna Go Home" has earned more than 26 million views. Derulo has streamed more than 395 million views on his YouTube Channel, which is in the Top 100 All-Time Most Viewed channels.

"Don't Wanna Go Home" and "It Girl" are Derulo's first new tracks since he established himself as a pop sensation with a string of red-hot hits last year: "Whatcha Say" (which spent four consecutive weeks atop the Pop chart and has sold 3.5 million copies), "In My Head" (2.7 million sold), and "Ridin' Solo" (2.5 million sold) off his self-titled debut album, Jason Derulo. Derulo, who has sold more than 13 million singles and 850,000 albums worldwide, is the first male solo artist to score consecutive No. 1's on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart in the chart's 17-year-history with his first two entries. Derulo won five awards at the 2011 BMI Pop Awards including "Songwriter of the Year," which he shared with Lady Gaga and his debut album's producer JR Rotem.
