The AFNQL Pays Tribute to Jack Layton
(firmenpresse) - WENDAKE, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 08/23/11 -- The Chief of the AFNQL, Ghislain Picard, wishes to pay tribute to Jack Layton and salute both the man and the message of openness that he always put forward. "The Canadian politics has lost a great humanist, a man of compromise, tolerance and hope", stated Chief Picard.
"On behalf of the Chiefs and the population of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador, I offer my sincere condolences to Mrs. Olivia Chow and to the members of their family. They are losing a husband, a father and an endearing and remarkable grandfather; Canada is losing a great statesman, the First Nations are losing a friend", added Chief Ghislain Picard.
