Stratos Genomics Receives Grant From the National Human Genome Research Institute for Further Development of Sequencing by Expansion(TM) Technology
(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/23/11 -- today announced receipt of grant funds from the in the amount of $829,000 over two years. The NHGRI, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), awarded $14 million to nine qualifying research organizations on Monday, August 22, 2011, to support the development of revolutionary DNA sequencing technologies.
Stratos Genomics will utilize the grant funds to further development of its ultra-low-cost nucleic acid sequencing method for whole genome analysis and molecular diagnostics. "We are excited to receive this award and grateful to have the support of NHGRI," said and principal investigator for the grant. "The additional funding will allow us to expand our development efforts and bring us one step closer to realizing the enormous potential of our Sequencing by Expansion™ technology."
