Cranberries, Apples, Honey, Cherries and Oats Unite to Form 100% Ontario Nature Bar Consortium
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/18/11 -- In a surprising move, Cranberries, Apples, Honey, Cherries and Oats united to create the first Ontario Nature Bar - with 100% of the ingredients sourced from Ontario farms.
The bars, co-created by nature bar manufacturer Taste of Nature and environmental education organization EcoSource are 100% homegrown. All ingredients, manufacturing, distribution, printing, design, marketing and merchandising are Ontarian.
Recently, the bar won the , which celebrates locally produced food and supports Ontario's local farms.
When interviewed, 'Honey' from Parker Bee Apiaries in Beamsville, ON stated: "When Taste of Nature approached us with the idea of a 100% Ontarian bar, I immediately spoke with the Bees, who agreed unanimously to support this initiative."
Responding to Honey, the 'Cherries', from Cherry Lane Farms in Vineland, ON said: "Ontario agriculture has a historical reputation for high quality harvests. We benefit from the Niagara Escarpment microclimate and nutrient-rich soil. Working with our Ontario neighbours to share the collective flavour from our homegrown harvest is an initiative we are proud of. It's exciting to have so many local ingredients together!"
