SAVA Wins GSA 8(a) STARS II Contract Award
(firmenpresse) - HERNDON, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/18/11 -- SAVA Workforce Solutions, LLC, a leading provider of enterprise IT and mission support services, has been named as an awardee by the General Services Administration (GSA) for its STARS (Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services) II GWAC (Governmentwide Acquisition Contract), a major small-business IT contract.
"The GSA Stars II award is a great achievement for SAVA as we continue to expand our existing contracting vehicles to provide technology support and services to the defense, law enforcement and intelligence communities," said David Poirier, General Manager of SAVA.
GSA STARS II is a five-year, $10 billion program prequalifying and selecting firms who meet stringent criteria including competitive pricing, technical proficiency, and industry credentials. The result is designed to be a streamlined acquisition process for federal agencies seeking information technology (IT) equipment or services.
Federal agencies can leverage the STARS II contract for services in the following functional areas; Custom Computer Programming, Computer Systems Design, Computer Facilities Management, and Other Computer Related Services. 8(a) STARS II allows for 8(a) socioeconomic credit transferrable to the agency, pre-competed, easy-to-use contracting, with access to proven 8(a) small business technology providers. It has shortened procurement lead times and a low user access fee (0.75 percent) built into contractors' ceiling prices.
The 8(a) STARS II program is reserved solely for certified 8(a) small businesses.
