Google's new social network, Google+, offers a 10-person video-chat feature known as the 'Hangout.'
On July 16th, Musk held what has now been officially called the . Within minutes, hundreds of Google+ users from all over the world were lining up around the digital block with hopes of getting a front row seat.
Google's top engineer, Chee Chew, and others took notice and began adjusting the tech on the fly by 'daisy-chaining' the hangouts on their computers to work around the 10 person limit and get more people in. The fans began a community-organized rotation in and out of the top ten seats so that others could join in. To play for as many people as possible, Musk performed for 6.5 hours straight for an audience of global viewers, who interacted with her and each other face to face. One week later Musk played her second G+ Hangout Concert which was also live-streamed for unlimited viewing, and was another marathon performance, clocking-in at 7.5 hours long. It was watched by 9,000 viewers in 100 countries.
