Interactive Seminar Provides Tools to Help Administrators Lead Their Districts Through the Implementation of the Common Core
(firmenpresse) - SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 08/16/11 -- The Fall 2011 State Standards and School Transformation Symposium, hosted by Evans Newton Incorporated (ENI), will be held at the Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona, from October 5-7, 2011. The event features interactive workshops, panel discussions, and research findings to aid administrators in increasing and maintaining student achievement results while transitioning to the Common Core State Standards by the 2014 deadline.
Participants will leave with concrete ideas for implementing systemic change and comprehensive data analyses that lead to increased student learning -- keys to success -- while transitioning to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
Nationally recognized thought leaders and practitioners will present on the following topics:
Participants will engage in an interactive group activity that will reveal some of the greatest challenges that the CCSS present for school and district leaders.
Starting with the revision of the Curriculum Pacing Guide, will share some of the opportunities and challenges of transitioning to CCSS.
The superintendent of and SCASA's 2012 "Superintendent of the Year" will share some pros and cons of his leadership style as it relates to school transformation.
The principal of will discuss how engaging the staff and community from the ground up in this process has lead to huge gains in student achievement and community participation.
The principal of will share her experience in moving from a chronic underperforming school to one that achieved AYP in 2011.
A nationally recognized leader on data analysis will provide participants with a framework for Continuous School Improvement to help during their transition.
Panel discussion about solutions and challenges successful ENI partners have had throughout the transformation process, led by an Executive Director Emeritus of AASA. Panel participants include all of the CCSS School Transformation Event Speakers.
