South River Technologies Releases WebDrive Version 10
New Version of Universal File Access Client Adds Enhanced Online Storage and Collaboration Feature

(SRT), an innovator in secure file transfer and file collaboration software, announced today the release of Version 10 of its popular WebDrive Universal File Access Client. WebDrive enables easy access to files over the Internet in a simple, intuitive way that reduces training and support requirements and improves end-user efficiency. WebDrive is currently installed on approximately 5 million desktops in 117 countries.
The new version features an innovative "Service Wizard," which enables users to select commercial online storage, backup or collaboration services such as Amazon S3 or Apple's iDisk. The wizard will preconfigure WebDrive to connect to the service by mapping a drive letter. Users can also select a protocol type such as FTP, WebDAV, SSL or SFTP to connect to corporate web servers.

Because WebDrive maps a drive letter to remote servers, files can be edited without the user having to download the file, save it locally, edit it locally, and then upload the file again. WebDrive enables users to interact with remote files the same way that they interact with files on their local PCs.
