Metrasens Spotlights New Ferroguard Screener at AHRA Congress
(firmenpresse) - MALVERN, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 08/10/11 -- Metrasens, world leader in ferromagnetic detection (FMD) technology, announces today that its new Ferroguard Screener system will be the focus of the company's presence at the important Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) congress next week in Grapevine, Tx. The new product was launched in May 2011, is already in use in MRI departments in Europe and this will be its first showing at a US congress.
Ferroguard Screener is a unique "on-demand" ferromagnetic screening system that provides instant whole-body safety screening for patients and staff in Zone 3 of the MRI Work Area as recommended by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Existing Ferroguard FMD systems are already widely adopted by facilities in ACR Zone 4 to provide protection from potentially dangerous items entering the MRI room. Ferromagnetic objects that are taken into the MRI suite will be strongly attracted, often with unstoppable force, into the magnet. Such projectile accidents can result in patient and staff injuries and costly damage to sophisticated MRI scanners.
