Guardian Capital Group Limited: Announcement of Board and Executive Appointments
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/09/11 -- Guardian Capital Group Limited (TSX: GCG)(TSX: CGC.A) (Guardian) today announced the following appointments, each of which is effective immediately. These appointments fill the vacancies created by the passing of John Christodoulou, the long-serving Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Guardian.
A. Michael Christodoulou has been appointed to the Board of Directors. Mr. Christodoulou has been employed with Guardian since 1993 in various positions of increasing responsibility, and has been Vice-President, Strategic Planning and Development since February, 2009.
James W. McCutcheon has been appointed Chairman of the Board. Mr. McCutcheon has been a director of Guardian since 1997 and, prior to his appointment as Chairman, served as Lead Director of the Guardian Board of Directors.
George Mavroudis has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Guardian. Mr. Mavroudis has been a senior executive of Guardian since 2005 and has been President of Guardian since January, 2009.
