Tao Minerals Announces Positive Geological Sample Results on Las Aguadas Project, Colombia
(firmenpresse) - MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/08/11 -- Tao Minerals Ltd. (OTCQB: TAON) (TAO) is pleased to provide an update regarding the Las Aguadas project in Caldas department, Colombia about which it signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to form a joint venture with Bullet Holding Corp. of Medellin, Colombia in July.
In March and April 2011 the Bullet JV properties were prospected over an approximate 12 km x 12 km area to the north and east of the town of Las Aguadas which consisted of a stream sediment sampling survey and surface rock sampling. The sampling program consisted of 16 rock samples and 89 stream sediment samples at various locations within the Sonson Batholith Formation to identify prospective targets for further exploration. The results of the stream sediment and rock chip sampling programs identified various anomalous zones that are prospective areas upon which to focus detailed exploration.
The stream sediment sampling showed anomalies for gold, silver, barium, manganese and zinc from the 89 samples, with similar positive results seen in the 16 rock chip samples. These results indicate the existence of polymetallic veins and/or deposits of sulphide complexes. In addition, the presence of local people panning the gold placers in the area is a strong indicator of the existence of gold mineralization in the area of interest.
Commenting on the initial information at Las Aguadas, Tao's President and Chief Executive Officer, James Sikora, stated, "Initial sampling results are very positive and justify further exploration of this area. We are very pleased to be able to make this announcement and look forward to the commencement of a more detailed exploration program once a definitive agreement for the joint venture has been formalized."
Quality Assurance
Bullet Holding Corp. utilizes an industry-standard Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program. Rock and stream sediment samples were processed at a preparation facility in Medellin run by SGS Colombia. Samples were then shipped for analysis to the SGS certified assay laboratory in Lima, Peru. Blanks, duplicates and certified reference standards are inserted into the sample stream to monitor laboratory performance.

The Las Aguadas property comprises an approximate area of 38,000 hectares of concession contracts and applications located in the Sonson Batholith, an intrusive body between Antioquia and Caldas departments approximately 120 km south east of Medellin, Colombia. This zone is parallel to Colombia's Central Cordillera mountain range and is 20km NE of the Marmato gold mining district that is characterized by gold vein systems and a deeper Au-Cu porphyry.
