TCW's Sri-Kumar, Tad Rivelle to Discuss Debt Downgrade, Global Economic Outlook

The title of the call is "Triple-A No More: A Special Update on the U.S. Debt Downgrade and the Global Economic Outlook." Dr. Sri-Kumar and Mr. Rivelle will discuss the downgrade of U.S. long-term debt Friday by Standard & Poor's, and the impact on global markets and economies.
"It has been my position since early 2009 that the U.S. recovery was not sustainable and would end in another recession," said Dr. Sri-Kumar. "Recent developments suggest that the recovery has slackened and that another downturn may have already begun."
Dr. Sri-Kumar views the U.S. government's pledge to cut spending by $917 billion as part of the debt ceiling compromise as having a low chance of being implemented or changing the way government operates. What instead needs to be done to revive the U.S. economy will be discussed during the conference call. He will also examine the European debt situation and the latest threat posed by rising yields in Italy, the Eurozone's third largest economy.
