11-Year-Old Chayley Receives Her "Wish" for a New and Special Bedroom

Prominent Design and Build Contractor, and recently granted 11-year-old Chayley her wish for a bedroom makeover and the room that she always wanted.
Chayley's favourite colour is bright blue, and she really doesn't like pink. She is a movie lover and an avid music listener. Her top film and band picks are Good Luck Charlie, Hannah Montana and Green Day.
Chayley is an 11-year old who suffers from a life threatening medical condition. In 2009 she applied to Make-A-Wish Canada with her to have a bedroom makeover that was hockey or jungle themed.
In addition to the desired room theme, Chayley needed and wanted a bedroom where she could do her favourite hobbies, such as: crafts, playing the recorder, sewing with her nonna, and using her Wii Fit. It was also very important that the new room allow Chayley to: have a friend stay over, obtain and use a computer for her studies and leisure, host a large white board for her messages, and store all of her special things.
Upon receipt of Chayley's wish request, Make-A-Wish Canada approached Design and Build Guru, Ramsin Khachi regarding the opportunity to work together to grant the 11-year-old's magical wish.
"Like our wishes, each of our Wish Kids is unique and special," said Jennifer Ritter, CEO, Make-A-Wish Canada. "Chayley's room request details and needs were very specific. Having had the pleasure of working with Ramsin Khachi in past room makeovers, the fit for Chayley's wish was a natural one for all of us."
Together the parties worked with Chayley and her family to design and build a room perfectly suited to her. Additional in-kind supporters for this wish included: IKEA, Home Depot, Fat Boy, Best Buy and the Montreal Canadians.
After months of planning, Chayley's room was finally ready! In July, Chayley, her family, Khachi, and Make-A-Wish Canada were on site with CityLine to film the unveiling of her new bedroom. Khachi appears on regularly and welcomed the opportunity to highlight Chayley's wish on the August 4, 2011, segment.
"Chayley's wish for a bedroom makeover was a huge success! There's nothing in this world like seeing a child's face light up with happiness," said Ramsin Khachi, Principal, Khachi Design Group Ltd.
