Full Metal Zinc's Exploration Program Underway at the Fortymile Silver-Lead-Zinc Project, Alaska
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/04/11 -- Full Metal Zinc Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: FZ) is pleased to announce that drilling and surface exploration is underway at the Fortymile Silver, Zinc, Lead, Copper Project in east-central Alaska.
Full Metal Zinc has scheduled 4,000 meters of core drilling targeting high-grade CRD (carbonate replacement deposits). The Company will perform step-out drilling at the high-grade LWM deposit, regional multi-element soil anomalies and surface silver-lead-zinc occurrences on the Property.
Previous drill results from LWM included 44.6 meters averaging 15.9% Zn, 5.3% Pb and 76.6 g/t Ag, 15.6 meters averaging 21.2% Zn, 8.7% Pb, and 127.0 g/t Ag, and 6.48 meters averaging 464.2 g/t Ag, 31.6% Zn, 11.3% Pb and 1.41% Cu. Drilling to-date has encountered massive sphalerite/galena/chalcopyrite mineralization over 900 meters of strike length, and in excess of 250 meters below surface. LWM remains open for expansion to the south and at depth.
The LWM and Fish Deposits as well as the Oscar, Eva, West Eva, and Falcon prospects occur within an extensive area of CRD-style mineralization, the majority of which have never been drill tested. Drilling during the 2011 season will target on multiple soil anomalies (greater than 100 ppm Pb and greater than 200 ppm Zn) within three kilometers of LWM. Additionally, the Company is expanding additional soil grid coverage over favorable carbonate host rocks that underlie the Fortymile Property.
Full Metal has options to earn numerous 100% leasehold interests within 117,638 acres of lands selected by Doyon, Limited, an Alaska Native Regional.
Full Metal Zinc's 2011 exploration program is managed by Robert McLeod, P.Geo, President and CEO for Full Zinc and a Qualified Persons as defined by NI 43-101. Drill cores are cut in half using a diamond saw, with one-half placed in sealed bags, and delivered to ALS-Chemex Labs facility in Fairbanks, Alaska. A sample quality control/quality assurance program using standards and blanks is in place. Mr. McLeod prepared and approved the information contained in this release.
Full Metal Zinc is currently exploring its flagship Fortymile Property in Alaska. The Company is actively evaluating multiple zinc opportunities in the Americas.
