(Data is Not Adjusted for the Difference in Selling Days; July 2011 Had 26 Selling Days and July 2010 Had 27 Selling Days)
(firmenpresse) - OSHAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/03/11 -- Combined sales for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac are on pace for solid growth in 2011, up three percent year-to-date, even as July sales declined 14 percent. Popular award-winning models like the Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Regal continue to win new customers, with Buick sales increasing 14 percent as Regal posted a 137 percent improvement.
"Although July was a slower month than anticipated, we are executing to plan and are overall pleased with sustained performance from models like the Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Regal," said Marc Comeau, vice-president of sales, service and marketing at GM of Canada. "Demand for our most popular vehicles continues to rise, but sales felt some impact from product mix and inventory levels of high-volume models. We are working to optimize both of these as we prepare for the 2012 model year and the exciting new product launches this fall, including the Chevrolet Sonic, Orlando and Volt."
