Appoints Seasoned Lighting Executive John Pena as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing
(firmenpresse) - SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/03/11 -- LUXIM today broadened its executive team by appointing John Pena as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. A seasoned lighting executive, Pena joins LUXIM from Philips Lighting Gardco where he served as Commercial General Manager. At LUXIM, Pena will lead the company's strategic marketing and sales activities, expand its global reach, seed new partnerships for LUXIM's Light Emitting Plasma [LEP™] technology, and extend LUXIM's brand into new territories.

Pena joins LUXIM at a time of growth. In the last quarter, the company signed several important distribution agreements which boost sales by more than 60,000 units per year over the next three years. One deal brings LUXIM's LEP to Russia for the first time through a partnership with a leading Russian engineering company. A second agreement was signed with a major European grow lighting company, broadening LUXIM's presence in the horticultural market.
Before Philips Lighting Gardco, Pena spent 12 years at Cooper Lighting, where he held a series of increasingly responsible positions. He joined in Engineering management, becoming Director of Engineering and leading Product Development. Expanding beyond technology, Pena later took on leadership roles in Marketing and ended his tenure at the company as Vice President of Sales for the West Coast. Throughout his career, John has charted new strategic sales and product marketing initiatives that broadened market share and increased profit margins.
Pena holds an MBA degree from Emory University in Atlanta, with a focus on international business. He also holds a BSIE degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering from ITT Tech in Cicero, Illinois.
