The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, joined Veterans living at Maison Paul-Triquet for lunch here today as part of his scheduled events on the third day of his four-day tour in Quebec.

"There is no better way to understand the concerns and priorities of our Veterans and their families than by meeting them in their own communities and listening to what they have to say," said Minister Blaney. "I want to thank the resident Veterans at Maison Paul-Triquet for their warm welcome and our frank discussions."

Minister Blaney is travelling the country this summer to gather Veterans' comments and insights as a way to help ensure the New Veterans Charter continues to evolve with the changing needs of the men and women it serves.

"Our government is working harder than ever to make sure we are providing our Veterans and their families with the services and benefits they deserve," said Minister Blaney. "The New Veterans Charter and the recent enhancements we have made to it reflect our government's commitment to serving our Veterans in the same way that they have always served Canada."

Minister Blaney also toured Maison Paul-Triquet before resuming his meetings with other stakeholders and partners who are helping the Government of Canada to provide Veterans and their families with the care and support they need.

"The men and women I met today at Maison Paul-Triquet have earned the right to be counted among our country's greatest heroes," said Minister Blaney. "I feel privileged to have had the chance to spend time with them."
