A joint venture of GE Energy, part of (NYSE:GE) (Fairfield, Connecticut), and the University of Wyoming (Laramie, Wyoming) was planning the center, which would include a small-scale gasification system to allow researchers to develop advancements in coal gasification technology for Powder River Basin coal and other types of coal.
