H&K Industrieanlagen expanding internationally
Company from the German Saarland strengthens its presence in Asia
(firmenpresse) - At Metec 2011 in Düsseldorf, H&K Industrieanlagen GmbH (H&K) announced the foundation of its subsidiary H&K Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. H&K, which is based in Germany in the Federal State of Saarland, is strengthening its local presence in the Asian marketplace. This region is becoming increasingly important for the German rolling plant industry.
H&K founded the new company in Shanghai together with J&E Management International Limited. Through this intensive cooperation, H&K will be able to provide customers in Asia competent consulting service and quickly respond to requests for technical field support.
J&E has many years of experience in the steel and rolling mill industry and boasts profound rolling technology know-how. Eileen Han and Jürgen Schindler, both owners of J&E, work for the newly established company as executive managing director and technical managing director, respectively. The new company, which is wholly owned by H&K, has a registered equity capital of three million euros.
Wolfgang Gerhard, Executive Partner of H&K, expects a number of benefits from the newly established company: "We have been successfully working with the J&E team since 2003. This makes everyday dealings for both sides very easy. But our customers will benefit most, as they will receive competent technical support rendered by our engineers in Germany and at the same time have local contacts who speak their language and understand their culture."
H&K Asia will supply turnkey plant technology for rolling mills. While the technology-intensive core components will continue to be manufactured in Germany, parts that can be made in Asia in the same quality will be produced locally.
Already shortly after founding H&K Industrieanlagen in 2010, the company had received a major order from China for a straightening and sawing line worth several million euros. The equipment is scheduled to be delivered in December 2011.
H&K"s international activities also show in the cooperation with the Austrian company Tyromet. Tyromet was co-exhibitor on the H&K stand at Metec. The company consults H&K customers in the East European market.

About H&K Industrieanlagen GmbH
H&K Industrieanlagen GmbH (H&K) was established in 2010 by the company"s current Executive Partners who had acquired the assets in a management buy-out of the business area "Rolling Mill Technology" of the Danish company FLSmidth. The company has its roots in the two companies Koch Transporttechnik GmbH and Hoestemberghe & Klütsch GmbH, which were both founded more than 60 years ago. Through this background, H&K bundles more than six decades of steel industry experience.
The company develops and provides complete solutions for rolling mills, from continuous casting through to the finish-rolled section or sheet. It specializes in customized solutions for both new plants and plant modernizations, which are supplied complete with automation, control and network systems and all ancillary equipment.
The range of products comprises
- rolling equipment: hot rolling stands for long products such as sections, special sections or steel bars
- conveying equipment: roller tables, skids, cooling beds, turnover and shifting devices,
- machining and finishing equipment for cutting, sawing, shearing, cooling and straightening.
H&K plans, designs, manufactures and supplies its plants on a turnkey basis, including erection and commissioning, operator training and service. The company currently has a workforce of 54. Many of them are engineers and technicians specialized in mechanical or electrical engineering, automation and civil engineering.
