Watch manufacture Scalfaro launches the “E1961-Geneva” and “E1961-E2A” Limited Editions of Mechanical Watches celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the iconic Jaguar E-Type.

Inspired by the iconic Jaguar E-Type which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2011, watch manufacture SCALFARO launches the limited E1961 ‘Geneva’ and ‘E2A’ editions of mechanical Swiss timepieces featuring original material from two of the most important Jaguars: the unique Jaguar prototype E2A (the evolutionary link between the famous Jaguar D-Type racing cars and the E-Type) as well as the E-Type coupé chassis no. 885005 which is the original car that was exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show during the official E-Type launch at the Restaurant du Parc des Eaux Vives in March 1961 and won a Prix d’Honneur at the prestigious Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza in 2006. The respective genuine material was given to Scalfaro from the current owners of the cars and subsequently integrated into the watch cases, so that each of the edition watches contains the authentic DNA of one of these rare E-Types and thus a direct link to its fascinating history. Chief Test Engineer Norman Dewis’ signature on the side of each watch case underlines the originality of these editions limited to 250 pieces. Further details include: 43mm case diameter, Scalfaro Ceramic Intarsia, finely decorated Swiss mechanical movement, inner turning bezel, domed sapphire crystal, see-through case back, Horween shell cordovan strap, folding buckle, water-resistance to 100m (330ft). Each SCALFARO E1961 EDITION watch is individually numbered and comes in an exclusive wooden box. Available from Euro 3.800,-.
