clickworker.com to Host Europe’s First Crowdsourcing Conference
Economy 2.0: Interactive Value Creation
Essen/Berlin. 25 May, 2011.
The first ever crowdsourcing conference in Europe will take place in Berlin on June 15, 2011.
Attendees at the Crowdconvention can discover this new, innovative and rapidly growing industry and the event provides the platform to meet crowdsourcing experts, swap expertise and network with the best brains in the business.
Companies, investors, clients and academics will all be attending Crowdconvention, creating potential synergies and opportunities to find new partners for joint ventures.
(firmenpresse) - The term “crowdsourcing” is derived from “crowd” and “outsourcing”, describing an interactive way of working that makes best use of the intelligence and work potential of a large number of internet users, for the external implementation of a company’s business processes.
A number of highly respected speakers will be contributing their expertise to the convention, including Jeff Howe, who originally coined the term “crowdsourcing” and who co-publishes the US computer magazine “Wired”. His talk “Why the Power of the Crowd is Driving the Future of Business” will give attendees a vision of the significance of crowdsourcing for tomorrow’s economic well-being.
Another speaker is Lukas Biewald, who founded the crowdsourcing company CrowdFlower in San Francisco in 2007.
Pia Erkinheimo, director of the Crowdsourcing, Design and Innovation department at the Finnish telecommunications company Nokia, will be present, as will Michael Gebert, owner of the Marketing Society. He is currently working on his insightful dissertation entitled “Crowdsourced Innovation Models and Risk Management”. His talk will feature recommendations to minimise the risks associated with new business approaches that use crowdsourcing.
The online platform 12designer will attend Crowdconvention to present their creative approach for utilising group intelligence. The portal offers companies and individuals the chance to invite bids for clearly formulated design projects. The commission levels are published online, designers upload their ideas and the contractor then selects the best design and implements it.
In the run-up to Crowdconvention 2011, clickworker.com partnered with 12designer and worked together with their portal designers to design the event coffee mug. The mug will be presented to everyone attending the event as a memento!
The conference organiser, clickworker.com, is Europe’s most successful company in the field of paid crowdsourcing. The company has nearly 100,000 Clickworkers, concentrated in Western Europe and North America, who work on a wide range of projects from search engine optimisation and data research to translations and content creation.
clickworker.com chose the Dorint Hotel, Berlin as the conference location; it is in the heart of the city near the Tiergarten. Its convention centre offers the ideal surroundings for lively discussions and networking as part of an all-embracing program of associated events.
Sponsors supporting the event include the Crowdsourcing company CrowdFlower (Platinum Sponsor) and Crowdsortium, a self-organised group of service and solution providers in the Crowdsourcing industry (Gold Sponsor).
