TPG The Project Group Integrates Microsoft Project 2010 with SAP at Frequentis AG
Implementation of extensive project management solution at specialized engineering firm
Munich, Germany. 17 May 2011 – TPG The Project Group, a full-service provider of project management products and services, announced today that it has implemented an enterprise-wide project management solution at Frequentis AG, a leading supplier of communication and information systems for safety-critical applications. The new solution, installed at Frequentis’ headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is based on Microsoft Project Server und SharePoint. The company is using TPG PSLink®, developed and sold by TPG The Project Group, to integrate its existing SAP system with the project management solution. TPG PSLink® is an interface that enables users in the finance and project management departments to continue working with the tools they know best while sharing the same information. Frequentis staff no longer need to enter the data into the two systems as TPG PSLink synchronizes it automatically in the background. The new project management solution also enables Frequentis’ management to access reliable and up-to-date reports about every project with a click of the mouse.
(firmenpresse) - Against a backdrop of healthy growth, Frequentis had decided to further develop its project management processes with the implementation of an enterprise-wide project management solution.
After an extensive comparison of various project management solutions on the market, Frequentis AG selected the Microsoft Project Server along with products and implementation services from TPG The Project Group. The company’s decision was based on the fact that TPG would be able to adapt and extend the functionality of the project management system to meet Frequentis’ exact requirements using its own add-on products. One of these products is TPG PSLink® for integrating Microsoft Project Server with SAP. Another tool that TPG implemented at Frequentis is TPG ResourceLink, which automatically imports resource data from external databases into the Microsoft Project Server Resource Pool. Frequentis is also using TPG ProjectProperties which makes it easier for users to view and work with project master data; and TPG MilestoneRollup that shows milestones as an easy-to-read overview.
With the implementation of this tailored solution based on Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint, Frequentis’ project managers can access current cost information within Microsoft Project Server, while cost accounting staff view project-related data from Microsoft Project Server in SAP. Also, the executive team can generate reports at any time that are guaranteed to be based on up-to-the-minute data from the two integrated systems.
