Enclosing and protecting with PEC heat shrinkable end caps
(PresseBox) - Sealing parallel cables, splices and cable ends carefully and securely is indispensable to safe and reliable cable installation. To this aim, many installers apply heat shrinkable tubing with an adhesive layer, pinching the ends together to provide the seal. This method is not only difficult and time-consuming, but also unreliable.
Specially designed to provide mechanical and electrical protection, HellermannTyton's heat shrinkable PEC end caps offer you a alternative cost-saving solution.
The PEC end caps can be applied fast and easily like a standard heat shrink tube. The inner adhesive layer and the additional adhesive plug covering the end of the cap provide an all-around and secure seal. Due to the very practical shrink ratio of 3:1 (4:1 is available on request) and the many different diameters available, PEC are used in a wide variety of applications.
Originally developed as an insulating cap for stub splices in electrical harnesses, PEC end caps are now used for numerous non-electrical applications as well. Shrinkable end caps also offer excellent mechanical protection when sealing rope ends, small casings and pipes.
