FST Industrie GmbH obtains major contract for the construction of GIL components
On behalf of Siemens AG, FST Industry GmbH provides high-quality assemblies for the power supply and transfer of energy in a Chinese hydroelectric facility.
FST Industry GmbH has currently received from Siemens AG a bulk order for the supply of welding components for a gas-insulated transmission line (GIL).
The components shall guarantee the power supply and transfer of energy in a giant hydroelectric facility in China. The greatest dam wall in the world, at the facility Jinping I, will be the first to use a vertical GIL.
(firmenpresse) - This requires the assemblies supplied by FST Industry GmbH.
A vertical GIL within the scope of the major project is needed because the stream is generated inside the mountain and has then to be conveyed vertically upwards in an approx. 220-meter long tunnel. The facility is expected to be set into operation in 2012. The already very high quality and test requirements concerning the deliverable high-tension assemblies are being intensified by the vertical construction of the GIL.
To ensure highest quality for the client, they are fully manufactured at the site in Berlin and then delivered ready to install to the customer. This project gives FST Industry GmbH a good opportunity to further expand its position as a leading manufacturer for assemblies and components with highest quality properties in the field of high voltage technology.
Customized and intelligent technical solutions with very high quality and test requirements are within the core competences of FST Industry GmbH.
With approx. 140 employees at the Berlin site, FST Industry GmbH has already proven itself as a specialty supplier. Thereby, the core competences of the committed company are found among others in the fields of project planning, construction and manufacturing of complex facilities (e.g. re-cooling facilities for converter systems and power factor correction facilities).
A further focus consists in the manufacturing of assemblies and components with increased quality and test requirements (e.g. for the application in high voltage switch and transmission technology, for power generation and large drive technology).
