Excellent Results: Goertz Relaunches Corporate Website with e-Spirit
More attention, emotionality, and excitement with FirstSpirit content management system
(firmenpresse) - Dortmund, February 25, 2011. Ludwig Görtz GmbH relaunched their corporate website www.goertz-corporate.de. The company is one of the leading shoe retailers in Europe and operates more than 280 stores with 3,800 employees. The content management system (CMS) FirstSpirit of e-Spirit AG (www.e-Spirit.com) is the technical basis for the revised website. Ethalon GmbH was responsible for implementing the project. The new Görtz web presentation includes attractive features, such as intuitive navigation, appealing layout as well as emotional and up-to-date content. The website presents Görtz in a modern look. In the background, FirstSpirit efficiently manages the content, supporting the company in saving time and costs.
Drawing on a proven solution
During four years, FirstSpirit had been used successfully for various Görtz web projects. The CMS was updated to the latest release 4.2 in the wake of relaunching the corporate website. Editors have already been benefiting from intuitive working processes in Java or WebClient environments, easy rights management and template creation or intuitive menu navigation. Further features are now available, continuously making editors" work easier. WYSIWYG view, drag-and-drop functions and integrated image editing allow for further optimizing processes and realizing time savings. "Modern web presentations have to attract more attention and provide an enhanced emotional and exciting experience to our customers. Consistently, using images and flash elements becomes ever more important to present our brands and products", explained Michaela Komatowsky, PR manager with Görtz and member of the central team of editors for the corporate website. "Seamless integration into our existing and future IT infrastructure is another crucial aspect."
Perfect integration
FirstSpirit is a Java-based client/server application. Integration of varied applications and data sources and development of individual functions is realized through a standardized access interface (API). FirstSpirit can be easily expanded or incorporated into existing systems, for example in different shop and portal environments such as the IBM WebSphere portal, implemented as the internal corporate portal at Görtz. For such purposes e-Spirit offers an IBM-certified integration module, developed in collaboration with Ethalon. With this, editorial content, at Görtz for instance news from the departments for the employees, smoothly integrates on the portal server. Thanks to the single sign-on policy and seamless integration, editors can continue working in the familiar environment and do not require knowledge of the portal"s output logic. This approach also contributes to facilitating efficient and consistent editing workflows.
