New standard demands protection class 2 for DC system components in France
Swiss inverter manufacturer, Sputnik Engineering presents its MaxConnect plus p generator connection box at Salon des Energies Renouvelables
(firmenpresse) - Biel, 11.02.2011. Sputnik Engineering is unveiling its MaxConnect plus p generator connection box for the first time at the French trade fair in Lyon. The new product, which groups together central inverter module strings, complies with the standard UTE C15-712 for grid-connected solar power systems, which has been effective in France since 1st January 2011. Sputnik Engineering is offering it for immediate installation in France.
"The new UTE standard prescribes that components in DC PV systems must comply with protection class 2", explains Michel Ryser, Product Management Engineer at Sputnik Engineering AG in Biel. "We meet this requirement with our new connection box." In contrast to the previous model MaxConnect plus, which Sputnik Engineering continues to sell for solar installations outside France, the MaxConnect plus p housing is not made of aluminium but plastic and has connectors (MC4) to connect the strings.
Alongside MaxConnect plus p, Sputnik Engineering is also showing its SolarMax TS series (rated output: 50, 80, 100 and 300 kW) and SolarMax S series (20 and 35 kW) central inverters at the French trade fair from 15th to 18th February. The SolarMax S series one-phase (1.8; 2.5; 3.8 and 4.6 kW) and SolarMax MT series three-phase (10, 13 and 15 kW) string inverters can also be seen on the Sputnik stand.
"Photovoltaics has experienced a real boom in France over the last few years. The solar radiation conditions and excellent network of solar installers provide the best prerequisites for the future of this market", says Didier Jeannelle, General Manager of Sputnik Engineering France S.A.R.L.
