Continental Plans to Hire Around 1,500 Junior Staff Worldwide in 2011
International automotive supplier invests in talent, know-how and innovation / Around 400 junior staff sought in Germany alone
(PresseBox) - In 2011 Continental is continuing to put stock in fresh expertise, new ideas and, thus, increasing innovative prowess in the form of highly qualified junior staff. "This year we plan to hire around 1,500 university graduates and young professionals worldwide, including about 400 in Germany," reported Heinz-Gerhard Wente, Continental's Executive Board member for Human Resources, in Hanover on Tuesday. The international automotive supplier recruits primarily engineering and natural science majors but also graduates in business and economics.
"As international automotive supplier, Continental relies on qualified employees who want to help shape the individual and sustainable mobility of the future. In addition to attractive tasks with international perspectives, flat hierarchical structures and individual opportunities for further development, Continental offers a variety of technologies and chances for natural scientists, engineers, business administrators and professionals from entirely different fields," Wente stressed.
Continental employs roughly 30,000 engineers in the areas of production and research & development. Of the close to 1,500 new hirings worldwide, approx. 1,200 will be from the engineering area and 300 from the commercial area.
