ASUS Ranked Highest Among Environmentally-Friendly Electronic Products in the 2010 Greenpeace Electronics Survey
ASUS VW247-HF LCD Monitor and UL30 Notebook selected as leading Green Electronic Products in the Consumer Market for 2010
(PresseBox) - 1.2011 - ASUS announced today the world's first halogen-free monitor, the VW247-HF just received another accolade for being one of the greenest consumer electronics product on the market according to the Greenpeace Electronics Survey for 2010.
The annual Greenpeace Electronic Survey assesses electronic products across four categories: chemical use, energy use, product lifespan and other notable features. The VW247-HF LCD monitor scored highly in each category with a total score of 7.5 (out of 10), putting it ahead of all survey participants. The ASUS UL30 notebook also made the list as one of the greenest consumer notebooks available.
ASUS is committed to the sustainability of our environment and consistently raises the bar for greener standards for the industry. After receiving the world' first Carbon Foot Print Certificate for notebooks last year, ASUS continues to strive for higher achievement in the area of carbon reduction. Just recently, the ASUS eco-conscious U53JC Bamboo notebook received the world's second Carbon Foot Print certification* for notebooks.

*The verification was performed on the basis of PAS 2050:2008 and ISO 14067-1 (CD): 2010 as well as the PCR for Notebook Computer (PCR 2008:1) given to provide for consistent product life cycle GHG emission identification, calculation monitoring and reporting.
