Kolbenschmidt Pierburg represented in Pune
(PresseBox) - The Indian motor vehicle market is one of the fastest growing worldwide and among the most important of its locations on the subcontinent is the Pune region. From January 19 to 21, 2011, for the 12th time international experts will be getting together at the Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT). At the conference of experts along with the parallel trade exhibition organized by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), the Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group will also be represented with an exhibition booth of around 50 m².
For Kolbenschmidt Pierburg with its two production and sales locations in the Pune region, SIAT represents an important platform in order to highlight to a trade audience locally manufactured products as well as new and forward-looking development projects. At SIAT, the Group will be presenting components for emission control such as electric and pneumatic exhaust gas recirculation valves as well as a complete EGR cooler module. Pierburg Pump Technology GmbH, within the Group the specialist for pumps, will be displaying vacuum pumps along with electric water and oil pumps contributing toward reduced fuel consumption and hence lower CO2 emissions. KS Kolbenschmidt and KS Aluminium-Technologie will be displaying extracts from their comprehensive product range of piston assemblies and aluminum castings while KS Gleitlager GmbH is showcasing its range of highduty bearings and bushings.
For many years now, the Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group has been present on the Indian market. In the form of Pierburg India Private Limited, Pierburg has since 2007 had a subsidiary directly in Pune besides operating a production plant at nearby Takwe. KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH has a stake in India's Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd. Both companies are involved in a longstanding partnership in which the Indian piston manufacturer successfully manufactures under license of KS Kolbenschmidt.
KS Aluminium-Technologie GmbH, within the Group specialized in the production of engine blocks, cylinder heads and structural parts in aluminum, is underscoring its market presence in India through a licensing agreement with Jaya Hind Industries Ltd. in Pune. The agreement covers the joint development and production of cylinder heads, engine blocks, bedplates and other castings for local and international OEMs and auto-industry vendors.
SIAT is staged every two years and remarkable for its highly sophisticated autoindustry topics. Pune is among the most important locations in the Indian auto industry, one at which almost all major carmakers and suppliers are represented with their production facilities. The background for this boom is the flourishing Indian auto market. Despite the financial crisis, altogether over 2.1 million motor vehicles were sold in India in 2009.
