eCommerce specialist supporting an international open source project
AGETO is a member of the Eclipse Foundation
(firmenpresse) - Jena, 30 November 2010: The Jena-based IT service provider AGETO Service GmbH is now a "Solution Member" of the Eclipse Foundation, one of the world"s largest open source communities. AGETO will become actively involved in the development of the Eclipse platform and research into the latest trends and technologies in eCommerce.
As Sascha Sauer, Managing Director of AGETO Service GmbH, explains: "We have been consistently addressing the technological challenges in the software sector for many years now in our in-house research department. Membership of the Eclipse Community is a logical step, providing us with access to the latest server architectures. We can contribute our many years of experience in the field of eCommerce technology to Eclipse, thus helping to further advance this open source project in a global network of developers."
The Project Coordinator is Gunnar Wagenknecht, a specialist in server and application architectures at AGETO and a popular speaker in the sector. Gunnar Wagenknecht is already an active member of the Eclipse Community, and a successful contributor with many years of experience in numerous Eclipse projects. He also represents the Eclipse Technology Project Management Committee in the Eclipse Architecture Council.
The Eclipse project was initiated in 2001 by IBM. The Eclipse Foundation was founded in 2004, and more than 170 companies worldwide are now involved in Eclipse projects.
