Converteam at Intersolar Europe 2010: New outdoor solar inverter for reduced system costs
(PresseBox) - As a pioneer in the renewables segment, Converteam has been operating for more than 15 years as an independent supplier of electric equipment for wind farms. As a result of ongoing further development of power electronics in the field of environmentfriendly power generation, Converteam now presents its new ProSolar outdoor inverter.
ProSolar inverters cover power ratings of 500 kW up to megawatts. Available as outdoor cubicle solution or in the form of readytoconnect mediumvoltage power stations, ProSolar central inverters are perfectly suited for the operation of medium and largescale PV power plants. The 3level topology of the power electronics based on stateoftheart IGBT technology and possible input voltages up to 1,500 V boost efficiency above 98 percent. This increases energy yield and minimizes investment costs for cables, buildings, fuses and power electronics. The liquid cooled inverters can operate with its patented active cooling solution in environments with ambient temperatures up to +55°C without any derating. Integrated data loggers record electrical input and output parameters. The ProSolar system can immediately communicate unexpected as well as predefined events via the Internet or per SMS. Diagnostic function options, such as longterm evaluations of components and of the overall system, complete the comprehensive monitoring functions.
In addition, the inverters meet the currently effective international grid code requirements and ensure the system stability of the electricity supply network thanks to their active approach to DClink voltage control. Simulation functions and inhouse test benches enable us to test according to international requirements and to quickly implement the results in powerful system solutions. With its ProSolar technology, Converteam is once again contributing towards carbonfree power generation.
