Ruukki launches Optim 700 MC Plus, an improved, high-strength steel

Ruukki actively develops high-strength steels based on customer needs. The Bauma
2010 trade fair in Munich this spring will see the launch of Optim 700 MC Plus,
a high-strength structural steel with improved cold-forming properties. The
impact strength of the steel also clearly exceeds standard requirements and the
impact strength of other steels on the market.
Manufacturers of crane booms, for example, can benefit from the properties of
Optim 700 MC Plus high-strength steels since it enables them to design
structures delivering better performance. Likewise, manufacturers of bodies for
trucks and mobile machines can benefit from the excellent bending properties of
the steel. Optim 700 MC Plus steel also lends itself to use in the manufacture
of goods handling equipment, earthmoving, mining and waste handling equipment.
Optim 700 MC Plus steel can also help to improve production efficiency and boost
the performance of end-products. The steel has good impact strength, excellent
engineering usability and can be more easily joined than earlier by welding.
