Fortis is publishing its Annual Report 2009 today. The "Annual Review 2009" and
the "Financial Statements 2009" are available onwww.fortis.com
In response to the company's concerns about the environment and the protection
of nature and in the interests of sound cost management, Fortis is publishing
its Annual Report exclusively on line.
As of this year, the Fortis Annual Report will no longer be distributed in
"paper"( )(1) form but will be available on the website as of the publication
date.
The "Annual Review" can be consulted as a browsable booklet with numerous
functionalities, including the possibility of downloading the entire PDF
document or individual chapters.
The "Financial Statements" are available as a PDF file that can be consulted
directly on line and downloaded.

Fortis's annual results for 2009 were published on 10 March 2010. The next
trading update relating to the first quarter of 2010 is scheduled for 12 May
2010.

General Shareholders' Meetings on 28 and 29 April 2010
Based on the experience of the past few years, it seems established that the
required attendance quorum (i.e. at least 50% of the capital represented) will
not be achieved at the meetings scheduled for 9 and 12 April 2010 and that these
meetings will therefore not be able to validly come to any decisions. If need
be, on Saturday, 3 April 2010 Fortis will publish the documents relating to the
Ordinary and Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Fortis SA/NV in
Brussels on 28 April and the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of Fortis
N.V. in Utrecht on 29 April 2010 on www.fortis.com
