Expiry of subscription period for rights offering

The subscription period for SpareBank 1 SMN's rights offering expires today,
Thursday, 25 March 2010 at 1730hrs (Norwegian time).
Any subscription rights not exercised or sold by the expiry of the subscription
period will lapse and cease to carry any value.
Holders of allotted or acquired subscription rights must, in order to subscribe
new equity capital certificates, deliver the correctly completed subscription
form to DnB NOR Markets by fax on 224 82 980. Subscribers who are Norwegian
nationals may also subscribe new equity capital certificates via the internet at
www.smn.no/info
