London, 23 March 2010, London Hong Kong Exchange Plc (“LHKX”) announces the appointment of Mr Philip Reid as executive chairman of the board.
Philip Reid (aged 60) has over 30 years experience in the international investment banking sector having held senior positions in stock broking, venture capital, asset management and corporate finance with blue chip organisations including: Merrill Lynch, Continental Trust and The National Research Development Corporation. During the period 1989 – 1999 Mr Reid was a founder and key management team member at Dublin IFSC based Custom House Asset Management an independent advisor and administrator for third party investment funds. More recently Mr Reid has acted as senior consultant to the Anglo Dutch investment bank Insinger de Beaufort.
Currently, Mr Reid is Chairman of the Board of UK Plus listed I Financial Services Group Plc, which includes as subsidiary the UK FSA regulated corporate adviser Orange Corporate Finance. He is also Chairman of Harbinger Capital Plc, a significant shareholder of UK Plus Listed Early Equity Plc and Frankfurt Listed Tangibal Media Plc Mr Reid has considerable experience as an executive board director responsible for corporate development and also has significant experience in the role of chairman and non-executive board director for a number of listed companies. More recently Mr Reid was non-executive chairman of Mavinwood Plc and executive chairman of Newmarket Investment Plc.
