Outotec to deliver sintering technology for JSW Steel in India
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - OUTOTEC OYJ PRESS RELEASE, FEBRUARY 3, 2010 AT 10.00 AMOutotec to deliver sintering technology for JSW Steel in IndiaOutotec has signed a contract on the delivery of sintering technology for JSWSteel Limited's (JSW) new iron ore sinter plant to be built in Toranagallu. Thecontract includes technology fee and the supply of proprietary equipment.The new plant is expected to produce annually around 2.3 million tonnes of ironsinter which will be used as feed for blast furnaces in steel production.Outotec's delivery is a part of JSW's expansion to take its annual sintercapacity to 10 million tonnes. The commissioning for the plant is scheduled for2011."This is already JSW's fourth sinter plant designed with Outotec's technology inthe past five years. The previous plant delivered by Outotec and commissionedthis year will be India's largest sinter plant.
