Published in December2009, this report includes the results of extensive evaluations of 15 IPSproducts from seven vendors.Designed to address the challenges faced by IT professionals in selecting andmanaging security products, NSS Labs reports offer unbiased, actionableinformation based on real-world test data. Using its real-world testingmethodology, NSS Labs compared IPS products against 1,159 live exploits in theindustry's most comprehensive test to date. Ratings were then awarded based onthe product's security effectiveness, performance, and total cost of ownership(TCO). Stonesoft's StoneGate IPS solutions were awarded a Neutral rating,indicating that they performed well during the test and should be consideredduring the purchasing process."Stonesoft showed itself to be a solid player in our test, offering betterprotection than several better-known products," said Rick Moy, president, NSSLabs, Inc. At $82 per protectedmegabit of traffic, the product's cost was one-third that of its next nearestcompetitor.
