(Thomson Reuters ONE) - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE    28th January 2010 NATIONAL POWER CORPORATION AND CLENERGEN CORPORATION (CRGE: OB) SIGN MOA                             TO DEVELOP RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY IN THE PHILIPPINESNational Power Corporation (NPC) and Clenergen Corporation  (CRGE)  reached agreement to collaborate in producing  green electricity using biomasselectricity systems for NPC's Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG)  covering  0.5to 2 MW power plants.In a joint announcement, NPC President  Froilan A. Tampinco  and ClenergenCorporation CEO  Mark LM Quinn agreed to pursue feasibility studies for theNPC's nominated areas --- Kabugao, Kalinga, Lubuagan, Apayao, Concepcion,Romblon, Corcuera, Romblon and Banton.  NPC believes these areas have the bestpotential for developing competitive  renewable sources of electricity.Clenergen Corporation , a publicly held US company (CRGE ) have developed aprogramme to produce high- density , short- rotation biomass crops on acommercial scale to provide sustainable supplies of clean energy to regional ,independent clients and national grids.National Power Corporation,  is the Philippine government's mandated stateagency to develop off-grid small island power systems using non-conventionalelectricity systems.Mark Quinn , CEO of Clenergen Corporation commented "Clenergen Corporation willdedicate itself to install Distributed Environmental Power Systems or DEPS inthe Philippines.  The biomass power plants will range in size from 0.5 to 8 MWand will be located in areas suitable to  cultivate dedicated biomassfeedstocks."
