EcoQuest Limited (ASX: ECQ) has pleasure in announcing the first major order for its biodegradable health & beauty range.
The order has been placed by Korea's Boryong group’s Australian agent. Boryong, a leading Asian healthcare group with a high environmental profile, is a company that has subsidiaries engaged in pharmacology, biotechnology, health foods, communications, maternity and baby products, as well as access to over 12,000 retail outlets.
The Boryong group will be purchasing EcoQuest’s highly biodegradable nappy. Initially the order is for not less than twelve 40 foot containers in the first 12 months and not less than twenty 40 foot containers in the second 12 months, generating revenue over the period of not less than US $1.6 million.
EcoQuest Limited continues to attract numerous customer enquiries throughout the world interested in purchasing its CSIRO tested biodegradable nappy range. Conventional nappy sales number several billion units worldwide each year. These nappies can take as long as 100 years in landfill sites to decompose. EcoQuest’s biodegradable products, however, are designed to be composted and are therefore considerably more environmentally friendly.
This first order is particular exciting as it is early on in the launch campaign, which begins in earnest next month. The Board believes 2010 will be an exciting year for the Company and its shareholders.
